The lens of a multimode optical module is used for short-distance transmission, converting device electrical signals into optical signals, effectively reducing network costs. Simply put, an optical module performs photoelectric conversion. The transmitting end converts electrical signals into optical signals, which are then transmitted through optical fibers and then converted back into electrical signals at the receiving end. An optical module consists of optoelectronic components, functional circuits, and optical interfaces, encompassing both transmitting and receiving parts. An electrical signal with a specific bit rate is input, processed by an internal driver chip, and then drives a semiconductor laser or light-emitting diode to emit a modulated optical signal at the corresponding bit rate. An internal automatic optical power control circuit maintains a stable output optical signal power. This is the transmitting part. After the optical signal with a specific bit rate enters the module, it is converted into an electrical signal by a photodetection diode. After passing through a preamplifier, an electrical signal with the corresponding bit rate is output. This is the receiving part.
